The handclapping and guitar roaring opening disappointingly gives way to something rather more flat with this offering from the record label branch of King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut via Glasgow newcomers The Dykeenies.
There may be a crafty speed change in to the chorus chant of “new ideas” and the closing shouty bit – ranting on about even more new ideas – is a bit exciting, but coy calls of “silence is golden” fall away behind the jogging and bobbing background of dominating arty guitar while the languid chorus delivers none of the punch it promises.
Hot on ideas certainly, just lacking in oomph.
